Welcome to the Mountain View Kendo Dojo (MVKD) webpage. MVKD is located in the heart of the Silicon Valley (California Bay Area) and is a not-for-profit dojo, affiliated with the Northern California Kendo Federation and All US Kendo Federation. The dojo emphasizes training in kendo basics and fundamentals.

Due to temple activities the gym is not available for kendo practice on the following dates:

The dojo will have early morning practice on January 1, 2025 (Wednesday) from 6am to 10am.

Masami Yamaguchi Sensei (1949-2021)

With great sadness we announce the passing of Yamaguchi-sensei (kendo 7-dan), the head instructor of Mountain View Kendo Dojo, on February 18, 2021. 

To mark the passing of Yamaguchi Sensei, Mountain View Kendo Dojo held a virtual memorial service on March 3, 2021. The dojo thanks everyone who was able to attend and appreciates the memories and condolence messages shared by sensei across the federations.
